Which Dr. Schrammek Blemish Balm is right for your skin type?
Dr. Schrammek's Blemish Balm has become legendary. It was even one of the first BB creams in the world. But did you know there are several varieties, each with a unique effect and shade? In this article, we'll help you choose the Blemish Balm that best suits your skin type and needs.
What is Blemish Balm?
The Blemish Balm was originally developed as an aftercare treatment for the Dr. Schrammek GREEN PEEL® herbal peel. Its purpose? To soothe, restore, and simultaneously camouflage the skin. It has since become a cult product: a multifunctional balm that soothes redness and irritation, prevents blemishes, and provides a natural, even finish.
Each variant contains skin care ingredients such as:
- Zinc oxide: soothes and protects the skin
- Panthenol & Allantoin: stimulate skin repair
- Bisabolol & Licorice Root Extract: Reduce redness and irritation
The Dr. Schrammek Blemish Balm Varieties Explained
1. Blemish Balm Classic : For normal to sensitive skin with redness or blemishes. The original formula with medium coverage. Hydrates, restores, and soothes. Perfect if you're looking for a neutral tone and have sensitive, irritated, or blemished skin. Suitable for post-treatment and daily use.
2. Blemish Balm Honey : For normal to slightly darker skin with warm undertones. Similar to Classic, but with a warm honey color. Ideal for those looking for extra coverage with a subtle glow. The formula is almost identical to Classic, with a slightly richer texture.
3. Blemish Balm Light : For fair skin with cool undertones. The freshest, lightest version of the three. Very suitable for fairer skin tones, also for redness, rosacea, or sensitive skin.
How do you use Blemish Balm?
You can apply Blemish Balm as a foundation, or locally to areas with redness, blemishes, or scars. Our skin therapists' tip: mix it with the Special Care Cream for extra comfort, especially after an intensive treatment.
Use it in the morning after your serum and day cream, and apply some powder for a matte finish if necessary.
Which Blemish Balm is right for you?
- Choose Classic for sensitive, combination or irritated skin.
- Choose Honey if you have a warmer skin tone or want more coverage
- Choose Light for lighter skin or if you want to camouflage rosacea/aging signs
